Abstract
ABSTRACT
Analysis of colposcopic accuracy by direct comparison of four-quadrant cervical colposcopic impressions with the corresponding histologic findings is described as a precise method to assess the trainee's colposcopic skills. In addition, the use of this method along with the statistical methods of sensitivity, specificity, and the X statistic over time can be used to determine progressive acquisition of colposcopic accuracy. No improvement was noted during the 4-year residency. However, the trainee is advised to continue using this method until a high level of colposcopic skill can be demonstrated consistently.
