Abstract
ABSTRACT
Forty women with biopsy-proven external and internal genital tract condyloma underwent laryngeal examination while under general anesthesia for laser ablation of genital tract condyloma. All women were sexually active and used nonbarrier methods of contraception. All engaged in oral–genital contact with their male partners, none of whom had been treated for penile condyloma. Only one patient had vocal cord papillomatosis; the remaining patients had no visible lesions. These data suggest that laryngeal–genital transmission of adult human papillomavirus infection occurs infrequently.
