Abstract
ABSTRACT
A case report of management of squamous cell carcinoma in situ of the vulva with associated lichen sclerosis et atrophicus by CO2 laser vaporization vulvectomy in a 61-year-old G3 P2 A1 Caucasian female is presented. Laser vaporization vulvectomy offers a precise, microsurgical technique with excellent results with regard to anatomic healing, as well as a clinical benefit to the patient of minimal hospitalization, rapid healing, no anatomical deformity, and a considerable financial savings from reduced hospital care. This case represents the ideal use of the laser in management of multicentric intraepithelial disease involving a majority of the vulvar and perianal skin.
