Unilateral pulmonary edema of the dependent lung presented after laparoscopic living-donor nephrectomy in two patients. Treatment with O2 supplementation and diuretics resulted in relief of symptoms and radiographic improvement. The presumed causes of this previously unreported complication of laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy include prolonged lateral decubitus positioning and high fluid requirements.
