Abstract
The Porges Urospiral has been applied to 18 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) who had permanent or temporary contraindications for surgery in our clinic. Voiding cystouretrography and postvoiding films taken after the application revealed normally functioning urethras and complete or nearly complete emptying of the bladder in all cases. We encountered no major complication during the procedure. The Urospiral seems to be effective in surgically risky patients with BPH.
