Abstract
The need for prophylactic antibiotics at the time of percutaneous stone surgery is controversial. In a prospective randomized study of 50 patients undergoing such procedures, a single 1-g intramuscular dose of ceftriaxone at time of surgery reduced the incidence of postoperative fever and infection significantly.
