Abstract
Watershed protection and management has relied a great deal on engineering structures. In addition to traditional structural practices, land-use planning and strategies are significant for reducing the potential environmental impact induced by the artificial activities in a watershed. In our past studies, we have developed landuse restraint indices. This study applied VIKOR to combine several indices and determine the priority strategies on the restraint of land-use activities in the Fei-tsui reservoir watershed in Northern Taiwan. Because VIKOR represents a compromise-ranking analysis, the reliability of the determination of land-use restraint strategies could be efficiently improved.
