Abstract
Hydrothermal oxidation is an alternative process to conventional methods for wastewater treatment. In this study, a new reactor concept with oxygen multi-injection was used to carry out the oxidation of olive oil mill wastewater. Different experiments have been performed with feed temperatures of 200, 250, 280, and 300°C at the reactor inlet. The global reaction heat was found equal to −590 kJ/mol. The temperature profiles along the reactor have been registered and compared to the simulation of the process performed with PROSIM.
