Abstract
Behavioral telehealth is more and more often cited as an alternative mode of providing mental health services to individuals, families and groups. The focus of this paper will be to evaluate the provision of mental health services via the Internet, and more specifically the provision of such services through a text-based mode of communication (such as e-mail). We will look at suggested theoretical modalities for online therapy, and will evaluate the research available on the subject as well as assess financial implications to providing mental health services over the Internet.
