Abstract
Argon laser illumination for caries detection has been previously reported in the scientific literature. Recently a dye, Cari-D-Tect™, has been introduced to the dental profession as an additional diagnostic aid for caries detection during mechanical preparation and decay removal. The purpose of this paper is to present a clinical technique for caries detection via argon laser illumination, and to compare this technique with the use of a caries detection dye.
