Abstract
Over a period of 18 months, from January 1988 to June 1989, a large number of patients were treated for subungual hematomas and posttraumatic nail deformities in a Multi-Specialty Military Clinic, using a CO2 laser. A significant decrease in peri- and postprocedure pain was observed, as well as a faster healing time, suggesting this technique as an attractive option in the treatment of nail trauma cases.
