Abstract
The combined laser device ("Lasermatik" firm) with CO2 laser power up to 40 W and Nd:YAG laser (1.06 mkm) up to 75 W has been used in 152 patients. The focused energy was transmitted through a rigid lightguide, while Nd-YAG laser energy was delivered separately through a flexible lightguide. Such a combined energy has high cutting and coagulative properties. It can cut soft and parenchymal tissues bloodlessly. Functional parameters of such a device are the following: different types of combined energy, separate CO2 laser energy in continuous and pulsed mode, Nd-YAG laser energy through contact laser scalpel. All of these features extend the range of surgical application of lasers considerably.
