Abstract
Following massive weight loss, the upper arms take on a characteristic appearance that includes sagging, flaccid skin. The term used by laypersons to describe this is “bat wings.” Brachioplasty is the surgical technique used to correct this undesirable consequence of weight loss. This article discusses the brachioplasty procedure, preparation, postoperative care, and potential complications.
