Abstract
This article examines the problem of redundant and excess skin and associated with massive weight loss. Included in the review is the damage to skin following excessive weight gain and subsequent weight loss; patient selection and criteria for body contouring; psychological considerations; and body contouring options. This will be the first in a series of articles looking at the current status of body contouring procedures for the massive weight loss patient.
