Abstract
Cosmetic surgery is a medical specialty that seeks to improve upon appearance and revert the signs of aging with the help of various surgical procedures, which involve the shaping of various body parts. In other words, cosmetic surgery or aesthetic surgery is more like willfull beautification of an apparently happy, healthy person. Although it may not be essential for physical well-being or life-saving, it is more of a life-boosting science.
Cosmetic surgery can truly satisfy many needs and often will provide that extra measure of inner confidence, which may otherwise be difficult to achieve. For this reason, it is understandably well accepted in all circles. The purpose is to improve one's appearance as much as possible. It can do not more, and if you are expecting a transforming miracle, you may undoubtedly be disappointed.
The main surgical procedures have been repeated successfully thousands of time and are dependable when executed by an experienced surgeon. Cosmetic surgery procedures such as eyebrow and eyelid surgery, nose-shaping, cheek and chin implants, and ear placement help to a great extent in improving one's new self, while breast enlargement, body contouring, and the reduction of fat through suctioning techniques are additional procedures which improve the figure tremendously. Procedures such as the face-lift and collagen treatment attempt to revert the signs of aging and recapture the look of youth. These techniques are designed to give a brighter and smoother look to a saggy face.
Each year the number of individuals who undergo cosmetic surgery increases at an incredible rate. The social and economic influences which place emphasis upon appearance are quite evident at both ends of the age spectrum. Younger people seek peer acceptance, while older people face their own challenge in maintaining positive attitudes for an extended lifetime.
