Abstract
Microdermabrasion has become an increasingly popular procedure in the cosmetic physician's office setting. Its ability to improve contour skin irregularities as well as treat inflammatory skin diseases such as acne vulgaris have made it an important modality within the cosmetic therapeutic armamentarium. The present paper discusses treatment programs, new treatment indications, and clinical trials comparing microdermabrasion to other rejuvenation technologies.
