Abstract
The author relates his experience with harvesting chest and beard hair for the purpose of obtaining additional hair for transplanting the scalp. Beard hair appears to hold the most promise as the best alternative to scalp hair as a source of donor hair. It has advantages over chest hair because of its greater length, greater hair density in the area, and better ability to hide the scar. Some unique problems were encountered.
