Abstract
Traditionally, large gastric bezoars that could not be removed endoscopically were removed via an open surgical incision that left a large scar in the upper midline. Since the advent of laparoscopy, gastric bezoars can be removed via a minimally invasive approach, so that the morbidity associated with a large abdominal incision is avoided. We report the first successful laparoscopic removal of a large gastric bezoar in a pediatric patient without the use of any incision larger than the laparoscopic ports.
