Abstract
A novel amine end-capper containing two phenylethynyl groups was used to terminate an imide oligomer based on 4,4'-oxydiphthalic anhydride and 3,4'-oxydianiline. The properties of this cured di(phenylethynyl)-terminated imide oligomer (DPETI) were compared with the corresponding cured phenylethynyl-terminated imide oligomrner (DPETI). The initial results indicate that mechanical properties of these two systems are very similar. The cured DPETI displays a slightly higher Tg and better solvent resistance in methyl ethyl ketone than the cured PETI-1.
