Infrared spectroscopy was used to follow the kinetics of formation of castor-oil-based polyurethane/poly(methyl methacrylate) interpenetrating polymer networks (PU/PMMA IPNs) at room temperature. The synthesis of the individual networks, PU, PMMA and IPNs was studied by measuring the decrease of characteristic absorption peaks of each system.
