Abstract
Despite the global research on Public Administration (PA) education, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region has often been less emphasized in this area of study. This research enhances our understanding of the current state of PA education in the MENA region and the extent to which MPA programs align with the NASPAA competencies while also integrating the regional and country-specific local contexts into their curricula. It utilizes content analysis of PA program websites with a particular emphasis on course descriptions offered by higher education institutions in ten countries located in the MENA region, namely, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Egypt. The study contributes to the education and practice of the public administration field by providing valuable insights into the adaptation of global PA standards within the unique cultural and institutional contexts of the MENA region.
