Abstract
Cover Photo: The “Old Capitol” of Florida in Tallahassee. Now a museum, the core of this handsome structure dates to 1845, the year Florida attained statehood. Over time the building underwent numerous expansions and modifications, and when the present-day palatial Florida Capitol was constructed in the 1970s, many sought to demolish this earlier structure. A respect for history prevailed and the original was saved in restored form. Photo and comment courtesy of Charles T. Goodsell, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
