This article examines the use of mass media as an instructional tool in public affairs courses and presents a case study on how a class project, the production of a radio program, was used as a means for students to acquire more insight into the influence of the media in disseminating public policy issues. The article also examines the role of the media in public policy, provides a descriptive analysis of the specific class project involving the production of a radio program on a public policy topic, and examines the learning experience it provided.
