Context: Early experiences with caregivers have a major impact on the developing person. Early intervention at this time aims to reduce risks to optimal development.
Objectives: This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skill in the assessment of infants, young children and families at risk. The presenters all have clinical and academic expertise in this area. It will be useful for health professionals working with infants, young children and their families in a range of contexts.

Dr Robyn Dolby: Preschool attachment at home and childcare, identifying disorganised attachment
Dr Louise Newman: Interventions with high risk families: parents with personality disorder and their infants
Ms Beulah Warren: Infant parent psychotherapies: an introduction to technique.
Conclusion: Clinical material will be used to illustrate the topics. There will be ample opportunity for discussion.
