Abstract
The monomeric subvalent indium(I) complex supported by ligation of the tris(3,5-di-t-butylpyrazolyl)hydroborato ligand, [TpBu2t]In, undergoes oxidative-addition reactions with elemental I2 and S8 to give the indium (III) complexes [TpBu2t]InI2 and [TpBu2t]In(η2-S4), respectively. [TpBu2t]InI2 is monoclinic, P21/n (No. 14), with a = 26.698(10) Å, b = 10.801(3) Å, c = 29.192(6) Å, β = 92.07(3)°, V = 8412(4) Å3 and Z = 8. [TpBu2t]In(η-S4) is monoclinic, C2/c (No. 15) with a = 38.150(8) Å, b = 10.585(2) Å, c = 23.984(3) Å, β = 109.19(2)°, V = 9165(5) Å3 and Z = 8.
