Synthesis and Structural Studies of [(H 2 NPPh 2 ) 2 N] + [N{P(S)Ph 2 } 2 ] −

Abstract

K[N{P(S)Ph₂}₂], K[N{P(O)Ph₂}₂], K[PhC(O)NP(S)Ph₂] and K[(C₅H₄N)C(S)NP(S)Ph₂] were reacted with [(H₂NPPh₂)₂N]⁺Cl⁻ to give [(H₂NPPh₂)₂N]⁺ [N{P(S)Ph₂}₂]⁻, [(H₂NPPh₂)₂N]⁺ [N{P(O)Ph₂}₂]⁻, [(H₂NPPh₂)₂N]⁺[PhC(O)NP(S)Ph₂]⁻ and [(H₂NPPh₂)₂N]⁺ [C₅H₄NC(S)-NP(S)Ph₂]⁻ respectively. Single crystal X-ray studies of [(H₂NPPh₂)₂N]⁺ [N{P(S)Ph₂}₂]⁻ reveal multiple cross hydrogen bonding between the two ions.
