Abstract
Preparing this anniversary issue strengthened our connection to our predecessors who have served as editors of the journal. As a group, they represent an impressive array of distinguished scholars and leaders in the field. In commemoration of their service to the journal and to the field, we were able to contact some of them. We asked them to respond to two questions: What was most memorable about your term as an editor? What was going on in the field at that time that affected the journal or your editorship? Their independent responses struck us as being extraordinarily contemporary to our own experiences and sentiments. We hope that the following brief sampling of their comments provide a glimpse into the challenges and rich rewards of the editorial experience.
