Abstract
Presents a schema for classifying conceptual frameworks involving reading. The schema classifies conceptual frameworks according to type, content, and frame of reference. The types of conceptual frameworks are taxonomy, visual representation, and mathematical description. The content of conceptual frameworks include reading process, reading aptitude, and the learning-to-read process. The frame of reference dimension involves properties related to reading such as language, learning, and intellect from the areas of physiology, psychology, and psycholinguistics. The importance of developing frameworks from the various intersects of the schema is shown.
