Lessons from History: The First 25 Years of Psychiatric Hospitals in South Australia

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this paper is to examine an 1862 report of the Adelaide Lunatic Asylum and commentary on its establishment.

Conclusions: Many of the administrative issues surrounding psychiatric practice then remain pertinent today.
