Abstract
The investigation of the lattice strain development in three Ni–Fe alloys suggests that the lattice strain evolution behaviour depends on the deformation mechanism. When the plastic deformation is governed by the dislocation, the lattice strain exhibited pronounced nonlinear behaviour around the elastic limit. When the grain boundary sliding dominates the deformation, there is no obvious shift in the lattice strain evolution as soon as plastic deformation occurs.
