Abstract
A possibility to simultaneously achieve a high momentum transfer, Q, and energy, E, resolution, in a single inelastic neutron reflectometry experiment is discussed. Limitations on the excitation parameters, which can be unambiguously determined by the combination of the setup for spin-echo resolved grazing incidence scattering and neutron spin-echo spectroscopy are obtained. A method for high Q and E resolution measurements by a generic neutron spin-echo spectrometer is suggested.
