Abstract
In this paper, the mechanical properties of austempered ductile iron (ADI) are studied using neutron diffraction and mechanical tensile test. The elasto-plastic model was applied for interpretation of the experimental results. This model treats a given number of polycrystalline grains having different lattice orientations. The calculations are based on the modelling of the processes occurring inside and between grains. As a result, the mechanical behaviour of the polycrystalline material can be studied at various scales.
