Abstract
A procedure for simulation of the energy spectrum and angular distribution of the recoil nuclei from the (n, 1,2,3H) reaction on a thick target is described. The model is based on the Monte Carlo technique and analytic geometry tools. It takes into account the main processes of neutron generation, their interaction with hydrogen in the specimen, the passage of the hydrogen recoil through matter, and the subsequent recording of the recoil. Comparison with calculated spectra of the experimental recoil spectra obtained by the NERD method for various geometric and thermodynamics conditions makes it possible to obtain the depth profile of the concentration of hydrogen isotopes in the specimens.
