The bombs In Ballymoney and Omagh were designed to wreck forever the hope of peace in Ireland. The Good Friday Agreement was the target of a minority on both sides who voted 'No' to peace and 'Yes' to the destructive violence into which they are locked. The bombs backfired: by targeting children, the paramilitary on both sides not only murdered the future in a literal sense, they sealed their own fates as those who had marked 'Yes' on a ballot paper found the courage in grief to stand up and make their voices heard
