Abstract
The exerpts below are from the third edition of Berlin-East, the Other Side of the City. Originally published in West Germany in 1987 by S Piper Verlag and reprinted in 1988 by Hartenberg, this edition, published by Basisdruck, a new publisher located in the East of Berlin, has added two chapters to bring the book up to date. These give an impressionistic account of the days just before and after unification.
