Abstract
Hussein Qadry is an Egyptian writer. He had six books in print when he went to the censorship office in Cairo for permission to publish his seventh, and ran into trouble. He wrote this article for Index after reading Marilyn Booth's interview with Egyptian novelist Naguib Mahfouz (Index 2/ 90 p22).
