Abstract
After the downfall of Nicolae Ceausescu in Romania, the Albania of Ramiz Alia remains the last country in Europe still in the full grip of totalitarianism. For how long is anybody's guess. Louis Zanga from RFE Research in Munich examines one sign of movement which takes place even in such a fossilized system as governs Albania
