Abstract
Several Soviet participants at the New Beginnings Critics Forum in Glasgow expressed concern that censorship in the USSR could be reimposed at short notice if a major reversal of policy occurs. However, critic Mikhail Epshtein is disturbed more by the restrictions which society itself inflicts on writers. He spoke to Irena Maryniak
