To measure the velocity of molten steel in continuous casting mould conveniently, a new method is proposed in this paper. The relationship model between thermoelectric force and velocity is established by using the Seebeck effect and the relationship between convective heat transfer and velocity. This model and method can be applied in more continuous casting production to realize the real-time measurement of molten steel velocity in mould.
