Abstract
We, the Editors and Publisher of Surface Engineering have retracted the following article:

This article is retracted due to concerns raised regarding the integrity of Figures in the article, including Figures 2 and 3. Specifically the rpm values stated in these figures and within the Results and Discussion are incorrect. In addition, Figures 2 and 3 have been reused from a following previous publication without attribution.

The authors declared the error in the stated rpm values was unintentional and reusing the figures from their last paper without referencing was due to lack of awareness about required attributions.
Because of the inaccurate rpm values, the Editors agreed the findings of the study are no longer valid and advised for the article to be retracted.
The authors do not agree with the retraction.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
