The present study investigates the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Cr2Fe2NiCo0.67Cu0.67Ti0.33 high-entropy alloy after homogenisation. The results show that the as-cast microstructure consisted mainly of a dual-phase FCC + σ structure. By heat-treating, the microstructure changed from the FCC + σ to the mixed FCC + BCC solid solutions. The EDS and XRD analysis show that despite different crystal structures of the σ and BCC phases, their chemical composition is the same. In addition, two kinds of precipitations, enriched by Ti and Cu, are found in the microstructure. Formation of these precipitates beside hard σ-phase resulted in an increase in hardness. Additionally, higher elongation and strain hardening ability achieved in the specimen that σ → BCC transformation occurred.
