The interactions between tension twins and dislocations of ZK60 alloy under dynamic compression were investigated by electron backscattering diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The samples were divided into two groups, where group-1 experienced primary deformation with different strains (4, 6, 9, and 12%) and group-2 experienced secondary deformation based on the primary deformation (4% + 8%, 6% + 6%, 9% + 3%) to reach the final deformation of 12%. The results reveal that the tension twins are the dominant deformation mechanism during the early stages of deformation, and the volume fraction of tension twins and dislocation density increase with the increase in deformation. Moreover, the twin boundaries and dislocations generated during the primary deformation become the resistance to the dislocations motion during the secondary deformation.
