Abstract
Based on the traditional aluminium/polytetrafluoroethylene (Al/PTFE) (volume percentage ratio of PTFE and Al is 77.4%:22.6%) reactive materials, four types of specimens are prepared by adding wolfram (W) fibres with volume percentages of 0%, 4%, 16.3% and 29.6%, respectively. The dynamically experimental results show that the stress-strain curve can be divided into the elastic, hardening and failure stages. However, the impact reaction process of PTFE/Al/W fibre can be regarded as deformation, failure and combustion. When the volume percentage of W fibre is 29.6%, the failure strength reaches 295 MPa, which is due to the insufficient strength of the matrix rather than that of the contact position between the matrix and W fibre by combining with the SEM analysis.
