The joining of Tungsten (W) and reduced activation ferritic–martensitic steel (RAFMs) is crucial to the fabrication of divertors in future fusion reactors. In this work, an Fe75.0Si8.33B16.67 (at.-%) amorphous filler and iron interlayer are considered for brazing W and RAFMs. Crack-free joints in both the as-brazed and post joining heat treatment (PJHT) states have been obtained by short-time vacuum brazing at 1230°C. The bonding seams of the joints are composed of an α-Fe matrix, fine FeWB and Fe3B particles. The PJHT joint exhibits a high strength of 310 MPa and room temperature plasticity. The strong and tough joint would be appealing in its thermal cycling and thermal shock performance.
