Abstract
Based on the preparation of magnesium (AZ31B) – aluminium (1060) composite materials by friction stir processing, a study of the formation and transformation of Al–Fe phases in the aluminium solid solution near the Al–Mg interface was performed by transmission electron microscopy. The results show that there are many Al6Fe particles with the size span range of 100–300 nm in the aluminium solid solution, and the morphology of Al6Fe centre phase encapsulated by Al3Fe thin-layer phase was observed. Meanwhile, the interface types of Al–Al3Fe and Al3Fe–Al6Fe are both coherent interfaces, and there are crystallographic orientation relationships between them, namely:
The crystallographic orientation relationships have not been reported yet.
