The rapid development of new information technologies has to date received scant attention from the housing research community. This paper attempts to redress this shortfall through outlining a brief history of IT in French housing and providing a critique of current housing research on IT. Finally, drawing upon current theoretical debates within the social sciences, the paper takes some tentative steps towards identifying an agenda for future research.
