Abstract
“The sisters of the golden section” by David Navon
In the conclusion, 4th line from bottom, a reader noticed an error: 1 − Φ should have read Φ − 1: The corrected sentence is given below.
In the case that d is exactly as large as the larger part/ancestor of c, namely a or b (possibly even identical with it, as it is in some incest encounters), the size ratio between e and c (which is, by definition, the larger part/ancestor of e) is necessarily φ (namely, Φ − 1). Such a process might perhaps have some advantage in some environments.
The electronic version (http://dx.doi.org/10.1068/p6842) was corrected accordingly as of 15 August 2011.
