Abstract
A 37-year-old woman developed persistent erythematous plaques on the contact areas of an elastic band of a pair of white underpants. Cutaneous histopathological features were consistent with EM. Positive patch test responses were obtained with nickel sulfate, fragrance-mix, Kathon GC, polyamide, and a piece of the elastic band from the garment. Several biopsies from a piece of the underpants (72 hours and 7 days), Kathon GC (120 hours), and fragrance-mix (7 days) positive patch tests were performed. Histopathological examination disclosed a pattern similar to that of the noninduced lesions.
