Dear sir We were delighted to read the thoughtful comments from Dr Ferrari, and agree that a suitable control group is very important when examining persons exposed to a whiplash injury in order to distinguish between non-specific symptoms and symptoms that may be related to a whiplash injury. We also find it promising to examine in future the role of attributional pathosis in whiplash injured and relevant controls.
