Abstract
This invited article is based on the 2016 Presidential Address presented by the author at the annual conference of the Society of Pediatric Psychology held in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 14–16, 2016. The purpose of the yearly presidential address is to welcome conference attendees, set the stage for the theme of the annual conference, and review a major focus of the president’s own scientific and clinical work in the field of pediatric psychology. This year, the author focused on celebrating the successes of the Society of Pediatric Psychology and its members. Special attention was paid to the various national leaders in the field and their work both within pediatric psychology and across the general field of health service psychology.
